In over 5 years of working in the R&D Tax Relief industry, Ryan has personally qualified over £150m in client qualifying expenditure, generating over £30m in client benefit. He has maintained a 100% track record with HMRC, with nearly 1,000 successful claims. He started Taxar after seeing a gap in the market for a company that offers an additional consultancy service to help businesses implement their own innovation strategy and get the most out of their R&D claims.
Ryan has an MBA (Specialising in Project and Change Management), and is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PRINCE2 Practitioner, ITIL Practitioner and qualified ScrumMaster.
Michael is our lead Technical Consultant here at Taxar Partners and works with clients to identify areas of technical business activity that drives their innovation.
Having worked within the financial services industry for a number of years, he uses his comprehensive and robust knowledge to drive results for his clients whilst ensuring they receive a quality service throughout.
With a BA (Hons) in Criminology, Michael has conducted empirical studies and both qualitative and quantitative research, and truly understands the meaning of ‘trial and error’.
Hannah helps business leaders to understand what steps to take place in order to build the sort of business that the world is crying out for – one that balances people, planet and profit.
Hannah has worked in and with a number of charities, corporates and for-purpose businesses. She understands what it takes to deliver innovation and change, drawing on her director-level experience in both finance and operations, as well as 20 years of practical experience working on project delivery and management roles across all business areas.
Hannah did her accountancy training at Deloitte and has also worked at Innocent Drinks and Cancer Research UK. She is Trustee of Social Tech Trust.
Tom heads up our client relationship department and is responsible for working directly with businesses to understand their research & development activity and maximise their claims.
He has worked in senior commercial and leadership positions across the financial service sector for over a decade, with a focus on future-planning and strategic partnerships. He has a proven track record of successfully implementing multiple transformational projects through cultural change.

Sarah leads on our marketing strategy here at Taxar, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from over a decade of working within the financial services sector. Her strengths lie in building creative and unique campaigns to drive sales through a number of different channels and platforms.

He’s held various positions within a variety of international brands, and a range of beverage and hospitality related PLC’s and SMEs. Most recently, he has been building beer brands in Europe and Scandinavia using the UK as the distribution hub. Sean is passionate about building businesses and brands, believing in a sustainable and strategic approach that engages, balanced, social, environmental and financial performance objectives.
Arend Welmers brings a wealth of consulting experience to Taxar in areas of strategy, leadership, revenue growth and business development. He has worked with leadership teams of many international corporate businesses through to SMES, delivering significant value uplifts quickly. He sits on several boards and brings diverse experience that will be invaluable to Taxar on its growth journey.
Arend has a degree in education and a second degree in business (Business Management and Economics) and has been advising companies world-wide for more than 30 years.
Jess sits on several boards in executive and NED roles and has a business management career across a wide range of corporates and SMEs, including Fosters, EY, Innocent Drinks and PA Consulting.
Jess’ experience includes managing fast growing start-ups as well as larger, more mature businesses. He is a Chartered Accountant and also has a Corporate Treasurer qualification.
